The world we live in has a tendency to keep us in a perpetually state of action, worries, stress and the pursuit of instant gratification. We are busy doing a lot, but really busy doing nothing for ourselves. We do so much we very often don’t have time to see the true self or hear the inner voice amidst the noise and commotion.
Consider the many things you do today that you don’t have to do.
You don’t have to watch that violence programme on TV. You don’t have to buy that new dress, new shirt or new shoes, just because they have reduced it in price. You don’t have to say yes, when what you really mean is no.
Make a list of all the things you do today that you don’t have to do. Then start to tick that list off. As you accomplish each, think about how much lighter you feel.
Today, what are your do’s that you don’t have to do.

“If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. The more things you do, the more you keep doing.”
